Welding Innovations and Product Enhancements

MCR Safety is committed to protecting welders from workplace hazards.  We accomplish this by manufacturing PPE loaded with features and designed for the rough conditions welders face. Over the past year, we have developed a variety of new welding gloves, which offer a host of features designed for additional comfort, better productivity, and protection.  Below, we highlight the specific welding glove features recently enhanced.

Back-of-Hand Protection

When you’re working around metal, your hands are sure to get banged up at some point. The 36136HP, 48406 and 48406K offer a TPR back, providing excellent ANSI ISEA 138 Level 1 impact resistance on the fingers and back of the hand.

Drag patches

Welders require protection down the side of their glove when dragging a welding gun. The new 4890, 4891, 49750 and 49751 provide a drag patch for durability, additional heat protection and longer wear.

DuPont™ Kevlar® Lined options

Every welder has to pick up sheet metal and sharp metal parts. Our new 48406K is lined with DuPont™ Kevlar® for additional heat and cut protection.

Elkskin

MCR Safety strives to create the most comfortable and durable welding products on the market. Elk is recognized as one of the most durable and softest leathers. We offer both a Premium Pearl Gray [part number 49750], and a Premium Gold Grain Elkskin [part number 49751].

Insulation

Welders prefer premium insulation when working during the winter months. The new 48406T is 100 gm Thinsulate® lined for protection in cold working environments.

Padded Palm

The 4890, 4891, 48406, and 48406K provide a padded palm for added durability and all-day comfort while welding.

Top Grain cotton/foam lined back

Heat protection and dexterity are a welding glove’s one-two punch. With a cotton lined palm and a foam backed lining, a welder is armed with excellent welding glove protection.

Total Length

Does length really matter? When you’re working around flying sparks, you bet it does. The 4891 provides 13" total length including a 5" brown split cow leather cuff.
